Junior Consultant – Freelance (Amsterdam, Hybrid) – Immediate Start

A specialist consultancy in Amsterdam is partnering with top-tier financial institutions to solve complex risk and capital challenges. As they ramp up delivery across their Risk Advisory practice, they’re on the lookout for a Junior Consultant to support client projects focused on market and liquidity risk.

This is a great fit for someone early in their consulting journey, looking to sharpen their skills through real-world engagements. You’ll get hands-on with quantitative analysis, contribute to client deliverables, and work closely with experienced consultants across a variety of topics—from interest rate risk to capital structure optimisation.

Responsibilities as a Junior Consultant:

  • Project Support: Contribute to the delivery of risk-focused client engagements, supporting analysis across areas such as market, liquidity, and capital risk.
  • Quantitative Insight: Assist with data modelling, risk assessment, and scenario analysis to inform client recommendations.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside senior consultants to align solutions with client goals and regulatory frameworks.
  • Reporting & Research: Help prepare clear, insight-driven reports and presentations for clients and internal teams.

Qualifications/Required Skills for an Ideal Junior Consultant:

  • Relevant Background: MSc in a quantitative field (e.g. Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, Economics).
  • Early Experience: Up to 1 year of relevant experience—this may include internships—in consulting, finance, or risk analysis.
  • Technical Exposure: Familiarity with Python or another object-oriented language is a plus for data-heavy projects.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when working with complex data.
  • Communication: Able to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights (English fluency required).
  • Professional Mindset: Proactive, curious, and capable of working independently while collaborating effectively.
