What is the role about?
As a Senior Regulatory Counsel, you will support our company's growth as a regulated entity. With the upcoming MiCAR regulations, you will have the opportunity to enhance our legal framework, serve as an internal knowledge resource for all departments, and implement measures to ensure compliance with local and regional requirements. In your role within the legal team, you will also act as a key advisor to the MiCAR project team.
How will you make an impact?
- Serve as a crucial member of the legal team, handling all regulatory and licensing issues related to our business
- Provide regulatory advice to stakeholders across the Technology, Product, and Business domains, as well as the Management Board
- Assist with licensing applications and regulatory interactions with key regulators both within and outside the country
- Monitor trends and developments in crypto regulations, collaborating closely with Compliance, Financial Crime, and Risk teams
- Develop, review, and update regulatory/legal frameworks, including policies, procedures, manuals, and compliance registers to ensure adherence to current and upcoming regulations
- Advise the Chief Risk Officer and the Board on strategic regulatory matters
How will you be successful?
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, preferably within the fintech industry, a regulated financial institution, or a reputable law firm
- Demonstrated knowledge of MiFID and experience with its implementation
- In-depth understanding of financial services and, preferably, the crypto regulatory environment
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work flexibly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, coupled with negotiation skills, ambition, resilience, and resourcefulness
- Experience with Dutch regulatory matters is essential
- Proficiency in written and spoken Dutch is highly preferred
