Senior Scala Engineer, Remote (EU), White-label BNPL

One of our Germany-based clients operating within the white-label BNPL sector is looking for an experienced Scale Engineer to join their team remotely and work on the development and growth of their exciting payments and accounting solutions.

About Company

The mission of the company is to build the next generation Buy Now Pay Later platform for Payment Providers and Financial Institutions, allowing our customers to offer invoice and instalment plans to meet the demand for fast & frictionless payments

About Role

  • You will craft code and APIs for our risk engine based on Scala + ZIO, as well as connect internal and external services
  • You will write high-quality code that is well-structured and scalable
  • You will deploy the code you wrote and check how it performs with actual users at scale
  • You proactively improve our existing code base
  • You will create awesome code reviews for your colleagues
  • You do not forget about unit, integration, as well as end-to-end tests (where appropriate) to catch potential bugs as early as possible
  • You will contribute your own ideas to make our core engine even more sophisticated

You have

  • 2 years of experience as a Scala engineer or in a similar role
  • You are comfortable working with Scala
  • You have a solid understanding of NoSQL databases, like MongoDB or similar
  • You know how to build and operate containerized applications in the cloud

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of ZIO-Scala library
  • Having knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, and DevOps principles is a plus
  • German is a plus
