Mollie enabling merchants to accept bitcoin payments for websites and apps

Mollie, payment service provider in the Benelux, has added Bitcoin acceptance to its offering of online payment methods. This addition allows thousands of online merchants to start accepting Bitcoins immediately without the need for further integration.

Accept bitcoin payments through Mollie

Online merchants do not need to have any knowledge of Bitcoins or a Bitcoin wallet: Mollie accepts the Bitcoin equivalent of the transaction amount and credits the online merchant’s euro account within two working days. The Bitcoin-Euro exchange rate is fixed at the time of payment and this amount as well as the payment is guaranteed. Online merchants using Mollie can now seamlessly offer their customers the ability to pay in Bitcoins as risk free as any online payment method.

‘Believe in the future of crypto-currencies’

Gaston Aussems, CEO of Mollie adds: “We believe in the future of crypto-currencies as their DNA matches that of online commerce; real time, low transaction costs and cross border. For Bitcoin payments to become common there should be a two-sided market: enough customers able to pay with Bitcoins and sufficient merchants accepting them. We are convinced that, by making it simple and risk-free for online merchants to accept Bitcoins, we are providing a major contribution to the mass adoption and use of Bitcoins.”
