Global Buy Now, Pay Later pioneer Zip partners with BigCommerce, accelerating the growth of instalment payments

LONDON – 9 March 2021  Leading Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) provider Zip (ASX: Z1P) today announced the company has been selected by BigCommerce (NASDAQ: BIGC) as an Elite Partner. Seen as a best-in-class e-commerce solution for businesses both large and small, Zip will provide flexible digital payment options to BigCommerce’s network of more than 60,000 merchants, globally.

“With so many options in today’s retail environment, merchants need to be thoughtful about decreasing barriers to purchase for their customers – including providing easy-to-use alternative payment methods at checkout,” said Russell Klein, Chief Commercial Officer for BigCommerce. “Zip is a trusted global leader in instalment-based payments, and we are excited to welcome them as Elite Partners. Our merchants and their customers will benefit from Zip’s transparent Buy Now, Pay Later financing solutions.”

Zip – which recently arrived in the UK – is disrupting the broken credit card model with faster, more flexible ways to pay.

Globally, more than 5.7 million people choose to pay with Zip online and in-store. The company partners with merchants across a range of sectors – from homeware and entertainment to fashion, sport, health & beauty, groceries and travel – to allow their customers to buy items and spread the payment over four interest-free instalments. Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, Zip also has operations across Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and in the US via Quadpay, a Zip company.

“This partnership will help to propel our merchant and customer growth in the UK,” said Zip UK Managing Director, Anthony Drury. “We’ve built a brilliant team of fintech and ecommerce experts in the UK and are recruiting at pace. We’re well positioned to drive our ambitious UK growth plans and are delighted to work together with BigCommerce to shape the future of e-commerce. Merchants on the platform will be able to offer a fair, transparent and interest-free payment choice to their customers.”

Zip’s robust integration with BigCommerce enables brands to implement Zip payment quickly and seamlessly. It means that merchants can activate Zip instantly and start seeing results quicker than any other digital payment solution. Competitive and flexible pricing options include reduction of merchant fees as a merchant’s transaction volume increases.
