Account Executive, Italy (Payments)
Our client is a European payments provider scaling internationally and building senior commercial teams across key markets. With existing enterprise logos and strong cross-border capabilities, they are expanding in Italy and seeking a Account Executive in Italy to drive new online revenue and deepen relationships with e-commerce merchants.
As a Account Executive, you will:
- Own full-cycle new business sales for online (e-commerce) payments in Italy
- Prospect, qualify, and close mid-market to enterprise merchants with cross-border needs
- Build and manage a robust pipeline, forecast accurately, and deliver against targets
- Lead solution selling across payment methods, risk/fraud, and cross-border flows
- Collaborate with country leadership and central teams (product, risk, finance, legal)
- Use CRM (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline hygiene, activity tracking, and reporting
- Represent the brand at industry events and within partner ecosystems
- Transition won accounts to account management while staying close on strategic deals
Qualifications/Required Skills:
- 5+ years’ quota-carrying sales experience in payments/fintech (PSP, acquirer, BNPL, wallets)
- Proven track record with clear figures (new logos, TTV/TPV, margin/revenue)
- Strong hunter DNA; comfortable with outbound and executive-level sales cycles
- Expertise in cross-border e-commerce; omnichannel not required
- Fluent Italian; strong professional English
- Familiarity with partner-led motions and solution/value selling
- Italy-based (or willing to relocate); able to travel as needed
- Competitive, entrepreneurial mindset; motivated by variable compensation
