IT Audit Senior Manager (m/f/d)

Sector: Banking / Embedded Finance (BaaS)
Contract: Fixed-term, 4 months (multiple positions available)

About the Company

Our client is a well-established, fully licensed German bank serving corporate and fintech partners across Europe. With a strong regulatory foundation and a modern, scalable technology infrastructure, the organisation is investing heavily in its Internal Audit function as it continues to grow and modernise its operations.

The Role

To strengthen the Internal Audit function, our client is looking for an IT Audit Senior Manager with experience auditing IT processes, based in the Frankfurt area. Whether against BAIT or ISO standards (e.g. ISO 27001), you will ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are properly implemented — and help elevate the impact of Internal Audit within the organisation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and execute IT audits, including drafting audit reports and coordinating with business functions
  • Contribute to the review and quality assurance of the internal control system, as well as the compliance, security and efficiency of processes and systems
  • Independently follow up on internal and external audit findings
  • Own the audit oversight of internal projects in line with relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. MaRisk, DORA, KWG) as well as emerging AI regulation
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing development of audit methodology

What You Bring

  • A completed degree, ideally in IT, cybersecurity, information security or a related field
  • Relevant, in-depth hands-on experience auditing IT requirements (e.g. MaRisk, DORA, IT-Grundschutz or ISO 2700X)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory banking standards
  • Good to very good knowledge of core IT processes (in particular BCM, incident and problem management, cloud technologies, outsourcing, software development processes including testing and release, and access/permissions management)
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (including explainability, fairness, model lifecycle management, and emerging regulation such as the EU AI Act)
  • Confident use of AI tools, a critical eye on AI-generated outputs, and openness to AI-supported workflows and continuous upskilling
  • Fluent German and very good English, written and spoken
  • The ability to act as a connector between IT specialists, regulatory experts and business units, bringing different perspectives together effectively

Benefits

  • 28 days of annual leave (rising by 2 days after 2 years, and a further 3 days after 3 years)
  • 2 paid volunteering days per year
  • Home office budget
  • €1,000 annual learning & development budget, plus a transparent career framework
  • Monthly meal allowance
  • Subsidy for the Deutschlandticket (public transport)
  • Option to work up to 12 weeks per year from abroad
