Technical Consultant

Our client is a global payment technology company transforming how retailers, merchants, and service providers connect with their customers through seamless, secure, and innovative payment solutions.
Backed by over 30 years of industry experience, they partner with banks, merchants, fintechs, acquirers, ISVs, and PSPs worldwide, offering a broad portfolio of Android and Linux-based payment terminals, mobile and countertop POS systems, unattended terminals, and payment processing software.
As they continue to grow their EMEA footprint, they are hiring a Technical Consultant to serve as the primary technical contact for the UK&I region.
As a Technical Consultant, you will:
- Serve as the primary technical pre-sales contact for the UK&I sales function, supporting clients and prospects with design and implementation of payment solutions
- Provide technical product support to customers and the internal sales team throughout the sales cycle
- Support New Product Introductions and revenue readiness initiatives, including software implementation and certification
- Represent regional requirements against the global product roadmap and influence prioritisation
- Collaborate with the UK&I project management team and anticipate the impact of regulations and local requirements on products and go-to-market plans
- Monitor and report on changes in technology relevant to the payments industry and advise on business impact
- Act as an escalation point for systemic product and solution issues, driving resolution
- Consult on specific product and feature requests; build technical proposals and solutions based on customer requirements
- Manage product customisation projects and keep customers updated on hardware and software changes
- Maintain customer awareness of relevant payment industry certifications
- Manage new customers through the onboarding process in a timely and structured manner
- Support NDA processes, sales contracts, and tender documentation
- Act as an external spokesperson at client meetings and industry events
- Deliver product and software development training and presentations
- Submit SDK packages, demo samples, and training materials as required
Qualifications/Required Skills:
- Proven experience in a technical pre-sales, field application, or solutions engineering role within the payments or fintech industry
- Strong understanding of payment terminal hardware, software, and certification processes (e.g. EMVCo, PCI)
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and commercial audiences
- Experience supporting enterprise sales cycles and engaging directly with client stakeholders
- Familiarity with SDK integration, software implementation, and product customisation workflows
- Collaborative working style with the ability to interface across sales, product, and project management teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable as an external spokesperson
- UK&I market knowledge; awareness of local regulatory and compliance requirements
- Advantage: experience with Android or Linux-based POS, unattended, or acquiring technology platforms across retail, hospitality, transportation, or unattended commerce verticals
