internal interviews meet the team

Meet Frederic – Digital Source Internal Interviews

Bringing you our last internal interview for 2020, we sat down with Frederic Lamoureux – our Tech Recruitment Consultant here at Digital Source. Dive into the interview below, as he shares with us how his career in recruitment began, his favourite travel destination and the show he is currently binge-watching.

Where are you from?

I am originally from France, Brittany to be exact! (otherwise called the most beautiful region of France). 🙂

Brittany, France. Frederic’s Photography

What do you do at DS?

I specialize in Data/Tech recruitment for high growth Tech companies in French markets.

How did your career in recruitment begin?

It all began in Ireland 3 years ago. I didn’t really know what to do professionally speaking, and recruitment just fell in my lap if I may say so! And what a journey it has been so far.

What’s your favorite part about working with the DS team?

Most certainly the friendly and healthy atmosphere we all are blessed to work in! Sales environments are often very toxic with a lot of unhealthy competition. Here you find competitiveness, but we all here for one another and have a smile on our faces, sharing good vibes and rejoicing in the success of others.

Thursday evenings with the DS team

You inspired our first Digital Source’d article on networking – can you share a few ways in which networking has helped you place candidates in their perfect role?

A big part of recruitment is word of mouth. So networking will allow you to be the first to know about a company’s needs or candidates being open to new roles. It is such a competitive market, so staying one step ahead is definitely a big asset and thus makes it easier to make placements.

What is something you can experience while living in Amsterdam, that you haven’t experienced in other cities?

Amsterdam is simple to get around in and easy to explore. Everything is accessible. It is quite easy to get  familiar with the city. Although Amsterdam is a capital it still has a village-like charm, combined with the cosmopolitan vibe and cultural life of European capitals.

What’s the best place you’ve ever travelled to and why?

It is definitely a tough one, but I would go for Lisbon. The combination of sunshine, cheap cost of living, lovely people and breathtaking landscape makes it one of the best places on earth. Right after Brittany of course. 😀

Lisbon, Portugal

Are you an early bird or night owl?

A bit of both actually, really depends on what I am up to. It’s never an easy thing to wake up early in the morning though hahah.

What animal do you think most closely matches your personality?

I think I’m pretty close to a deer! The deer commonly represents innocence, kindness, grace (not sure about this one though hahah) and luck. I think this fits with who I am.

What would we most likely find you doing on the weekend?

You can find me at a bar or dining in a restaurant (when it was something doable of course) or watching my favourite football team playing!

If you could only have 3 apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?

Marmiton (French cooking app), Spotify and Tinder.

What show are you currently binge-watching?

The Crown, even if it’s not in my top 3!
