Meet Pascal – Digital Source Internal Interviews

In our second interview as part of our internal interview series, we sit down with Pascal Hennequin – our Data Science & Engineering Consultant at Digital Source. Dive into the interview below, as we discuss everything from his biggest takeaways in recruitment to his Bichon-Frise ‘Moriarty’.

Where are you from?

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, born and raised. 🙂

How long have you been working at Digital Source?

For over 1.5 year now, I started last year in Feb.

How is it working at DS?

It’s been a great adventure so far with ups and downs, but that is probably part of the job. I like the cool atmosphere, vibe and ‘startup’ culture within the team and office.

Is there something you learned from recruitment that you can use in other aspects of your life?

A lot! Recruitment is all about managing expectations – either from clients, candidates or even your team. This job definitely improved my communication as well as my negotiation-skills and my English of course.

What makes DS different from any other recruitment agency?

I’ve had some experience with a typical hard-core recruitment company. In that sense, everything we do at DS is quality driven instead of quantity.

What do you work towards in your free time?

I have a degree in wine. In my spare time I like to read and learn more about different areas, of course whilst enjoying a nice glass of wine.

What would you suggest to candidates who are looking for a new opportunity?

In the end it’s not all about the money, it’s about finding joy and happiness in a new job.

Tell us your funniest / most memorable moment with the team

All our team outings are legendary, however most of my memories are for some reason blurry. 😛

Cats or dogs?

Dogs. I have a Bichon-Frise myself, called Moriarty.

Moriarty

Pool or ping pong?

Ping-pong, although I suck at both.

Favorite place to be in Amsterdam?

De Pijp.

Would you rather have super hearing or super sight and why?

Probably super-sight. I think I would be annoyed If I hear more than I do now.
