PSD2 – Does it really have an impact on conversion?

Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), which PSD2 requires for card payments in e-commerce, is now mandatory. The last transition periods for implementation have expired in many European countries. This is a good time for an assessment.

Netcetera made evaluations based on the transaction data of their 3-D Secure Issuer Services. The first striking fact: The approval rate dropped. For transactions not covered by PSD2 it is 89 percent. For card transactions processed according to PSD2 rules it is 85.5 percent.
