Securing payment transactions in France: Cartes Bancaires certification for Netcetera 3DS Server

With the continuous enhancement of their secure digital payment products, the software company Netcetera is enabling PSPs, merchants and acquirers to increase the approval rates for transactions and reduce fraud. The latest success of this product improvement: The Netcetera 3-D Secure Server received the letter of approval from Cartes Bancaires (CB). The server is now certified and able to process CB EMV® 3DS 2.1 transactions. With Cartes Bancaires being the most widely used payment method in France, this is a great opportunity for e-commerce in France.

France represents one of the most advanced e-commerce markets in the world. Consumers have enthusiastically embraced online retail and online services. According to Statista, France is number seven worldwide when comparing e-commerce turnover with an increase of approximately 18% in 2020 compared to 2019. Needless to say, cardholders’ demand for a better payment experience and improved security is also growing, and in the current extraordinary times, providing secure and user-friendly digital payment solutions is becoming even more important.

Driving both security and convenience of online payments, Netcetera has successfully completed the testing and certification with Cartes Bancaires, the market leader in France holding over 60% of the transaction volume, for the Netcetera 3DS Server. Benoit Ouinas, responsible for the business development in this region at Netcetera, says: “We are very proud to be able to offer digital payment products that are certified with every major card network worldwide. And this latest certification with CB advances the French e-commerce market even further.”

Customers of the Netcetera 3DS Server SaaS are waived from additional certification with CB. The server ensures the smooth and reliable processing of card payments from online shops. Payment Service Providers and acquirers can easily integrate with the 3DS Server to ensure that their online shops support strong authentication according to card networks’ and governments’ regulations, offer a seamless cardholder experience, and generate a larger number of transactions.
