The opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading European payments technology provider expanding its footprint in the German market. The company delivers next-generation issuing and Payment-as-a-Service solutions that enable banks, fintechs, and large enterprises to launch modern payment products faster, more efficiently, and with full regulatory compliance.
As part of a strategic growth initiative, they are hiring a Business Development Manager to drive market adoption of their debit and issuing solutions across financial institutions and ecosystem partners.
This is a highly commercial, market-facing role with significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape go-to-market strategy in one of Europe’s most important payments markets.

Your role & impact
You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and accelerating adoption of modern issuing and payment infrastructure solutions.
Key responsibilities

Drive market adoption of the company’s Payment-as-a-Service and debit issuing solutions through direct sales, events, and targeted campaigns

Build and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities within banks, fintechs, and corporates
-
Understand customer business and technical environments to position relevant solutions
-
Lead contract negotiations and close deals to meet or exceed revenue targets

Build relationships with key ecosystem stakeholders (card schemes, partners, consultants, and industry influencers)

Educate clients on modern payment infrastructure and issuing capabilities
-
Identify and onboard strategic partners to support go-to-market execution

Own the contracting process and coordinate internal stakeholders across product, delivery, and marketing

Collaborate with product teams on pricing and commercial strategy

Provide market feedback to support product development and positioning
What we’re looking for
This role requires a commercial hunter with strong payments industry knowledge and established market access.
Required experience
-
5–7 years in business development or sales of technology products or solutions
-
Strong experience within the payments, fintech, or financial services ecosystem
-
Existing network within the German payments market

Proven ability to manage complex B2B sales cycles and close deals

Strong commercial drive and results-oriented mindset
-
Customer-first approach with strong business acumen

Data-driven decision-making and structured sales approach

Comfortable working autonomously within a matrix organisation

Fluent German and English
Nice-to-have experience

Experience with issuing platforms, payment processors, or B2B fintech providers

Knowledge of Cards-as-a-Service, digital wallets, or tokenisation solutions

Experience working in international or matrix environments

Additional European language skills
