Senior Business Development Manager PaaS

We’re partnering with a leading European payments company that’s transforming how banks, fintechs, and corporates deliver card issuing services. Their Payment-as-a-Service (PaaS) platform is redefining what modern, compliant, and scalable issuing looks like—and they’re now building their presence in the DACH region.

They’re not looking for someone to follow an existing playbook. They’re looking for someone to write one.

Germany’s payments ecosystem is both advanced and conservative. Change comes slowly, regulations are tight, and clients are cautious. That’s exactly why our client sees opportunity.

They’re looking for a business developer who sees complexity as an advantage—someone who can translate innovation into trust, build momentum fast, and open doors that others can’t.

This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on sales execution. You’ll be leading conversations with banks, fintechs, and enterprise clients, while helping shape how this business grows in one of Europe’s most important markets.

 

Your Mission

  • Hunt and Win New Business

    • Identify, engage, and close new clients across banking, fintech, and corporate segments

    • Manage complex, consultative sales cycles from first contact to signed agreement

    • Turn skeptics into believers by demonstrating clear business and technical value

  • Build While You Sell

    • Influence the go-to-market strategy with on-the-ground insights

    • Test and refine new approaches to client engagement and partnerships

    • Collaborate closely with product and marketing teams to fine-tune the offering

  • Own Your Results

    • Drive pipeline with discipline, accuracy, and transparency

    • Consistently meet ambitious sales targets while building sustainable relationships

    • Share market intelligence that helps steer future product and commercial decisions

 

What We’re Looking For

Professional Background

  • 5+ years (we are looking for different levels of experience) of B2B sales experience in payments, fintech, or financial services

  • Proven track record in winning new business and managing high-value enterprise deals

  • Experience introducing innovative or disruptive solutions to risk-averse clients

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both German and English

 

Technical Competence

  • Solid understanding of payments, card issuing, or banking technology

  • Ability to translate complex technical offerings into clear commercial value

  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment and compliance standards in Germany
