A global leader in payments, digital identity, and authentication solutions is seeking a Sales Director to lead and expand its commercial presence in Japan. With 900+ experts across 20+ international locations, the company delivers consulting, testing, and technology solutions to help organizations innovate securely and efficiently.

The Role
The Sales Director, Japan, will be responsible for driving business growth across all offerings, including consulting, testing services, and technology tools. Based in Tokyo and reporting to the regional SVP, the role combines strategic leadership with hands-on business development.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Sales Leadership & Business Development

  2. Define, own, and execute the local sales plan.

  3. Lead complex sales opportunities across consulting, advisory, and testing services.

  4. Manage full sales cycle—from lead generation to deal closure.

  5. Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, acquirers, and technology providers.

  6. Represent the company at industry events, forums, and trade shows.

  7. Ensure accurate sales pipeline management, reporting, and KPI alignment.

  8. Client Engagement & Account Management

  9. Act as executive sponsor for major client accounts.

  10. Grow business within existing accounts and identify new opportunities.

  11. Lead high-value negotiations and strategic account planning.

  12. Apply a consultative sales approach aligned with company offerings.

  13. Internal Alignment & Go-to-Market Execution

  14. Collaborate with regional leadership and business unit heads to align strategy and offerings.

  15. Partner with marketing on targeted campaigns and thought leadership.

  16. Provide structured market feedback to inform future solutions and priorities.

Experience & Background

  • Strong domain expertise in payments and digital identity.

  • Experience working with acquirers, payment solution providers, and ecosystem partners.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex client organizations.

  • 3+ years in a sales role or 10+ years in a technical role within the field.

Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or related field.

  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across global teams.

  • Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
