A leading tech-driven financial services company is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to strengthen its internal audit team. Operating with a full banking license, the company provides a Banking-as-a-Service platform that enables businesses to integrate financial products through APIs.

The company values diverse perspectives, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth.

Your Role

As a Senior Internal Auditor (non-IT), you will be responsible for conducting internal audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly those under the German Banking Act (KWG) and BaFin’s Minimum Requirements for Risk Management (MaRisk). Your focus will be on key banking functions, including finance, accounting, taxes, money laundering, and risk management (OpRisk, ICAAP/ILAAP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and conduct non-IT audits, draft audit reports, and coordinate findings with business units.
  • Evaluate and enhance the internal control system, compliance processes, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze and assess organizational processes to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Review internal and external audit findings as part of the follow-up process.
  • Provide independent support for internal projects in accordance with MaRisk/KWG.

What We’re Looking For

We focus on real personal and professional development rather than job titles. Based on your experience, we’ll align the scope of your role with your strengths and career aspirations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in auditing banking regulatory requirements (MaRisk, KWG/GWG, etc.).
  • Educational background in law, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in audit methodologies (ToD and ToE) and regulatory compliance.
  • Deep understanding of banking regulatory frameworks.
  • Analytical mindset, resilience, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in English (German is a strong plus).

What’s Offered

  • Remote-friendly working environment.
  • Home office budget for a comfortable setup.
  • Health and development budget to support personal growth.
  • Clear career progression framework to help achieve your goals.
  • Competitive salary aligned with experience.
